Mimir is the god that guards the well of knowledge and whom Odin, a more well-known god, gave Mimir one of his eyes in payment for knowledge from the well.
Unfortunately, Mimir met his demise in one of the many disputes in Nordic mythology. Afterwards, Odin, in true Viking style, held on to Mimir’s head and used it to consult and to ask for advice.
Our founder drew the parallels between the well of knowledge and the world wide web. It is no longer exclusive to the elite. Infinite knowledge itself is available to the majority of the world's population.
Now that knowledge itself is no longer exclusive, what is needed for many is the facilitation of this knowledge with learning styles that enable individuals to reach their full potential. Odin also relied on Mimir as a coach to discuss and reflect on the knowledge he received. Even after the demise of Mimir, Odin continued to consult him. We see this as a person who received all the tools and then, with increased self-awareness and reflection, could navigate a life-long learning path.
